General Music

Classes

Students in Grade 3 will meet with Mrs. Tarabocchia twice a 6 day cycle for 40 minutes each class.

Students in Grades 4 and 5 will meet with Mrs. Tarabocchia 4 days in the 6 day cycle during their trimester.

Expectations:

Students will follow the rules of the music classroom.

Create/Produce music to the best of their abilities.

Learn, and have fun making music.

Rules:

All the students I see are musicians. Being a good musician means that they do the following:

    • Listen
    • Be respectful of each other.
    • Give constructive help, do not pick on others performances or answers.
    • Play with all musical instruments in a correct and appropriate manner.
    • Be creative. This is a great time to show what they are capable of doing.
    • Write name and class on top of every assignment.

During the Course of the year students will be able to:

  • Sing alone and with others
  • Perform on Classroom Instruments.
  • Improvise
  • Compose and Arrange music.
  • Read and Notate music (As appropriate with their grade level).
  • Listen to, analyze and describe music.
  • Evaluate music.
  • Understand relationships between music and the other arts.
  • Understand music in relation to history and Culture.
