Chapter Books
The list of chapter books includes books appropriate for grades k-2. Students read at all different levels so try a variety from the list. A good rule of thumb is the “5 finger rule.” Open the book to any page and hold up your hand. Any time you get to a word you don’t know put up a finger. At the end of the page if you have all 5 fingers up--that book may be too hard right now. If you have 3 or 4, that book will be a challenge. One or 2 fingers suggests that book is probably a good fit. No fingers--maybe too easy!
