Welcome, Students and Parents!

My name is Kate Pritchard. I am a dedicated art educator and photography specialist with 14-years of teaching experience.

Congratulations to GR Photo for their category wins!

On May 9th, three photography students took home medals at the Congressional Art Show. Taking 1st Place was Joseph Suyunov, an extraordinary Photo II student. Taking 2nd Place was Tyler Ann Cetrino, an AP Photo student that is SCAD bound. Taking 3rd Place was Olivia Link, an AP Photo student who made it just in time to collect her award after winning a rival softball game. Congrats to all ten entrants!

Student Work on Display in the Newark Museum!

Each year Congressional Donald Payne, Jr. hosts an art gallery for District 10 which provides local schools the opportunity to display student work in the Newark Museum. In addition to the gallery, there is an awards ceremony. Traditional placements of 1st-3rd are recognized and one grand prize winner will have their artwork on display in the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. for a year!

Work will be on view in the Newark Museum from May 5-20. On May 9th students will be invited to the awards ceremony where participation certificates will be handed out and the winners will be announced by our Congressman.

Student Work to be Displayed by the Morris Museum!

Ms. Pritchard and Mrs. Baker entered 8 students in a juried showcase. Three pieces were selected to be part of the annual Fresh Perspectives showcase hosted by the Morris Museum. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this years showcase will be digital.

Works will be viewable online starting May 14th!

Congratulations to Steven Shepps!

Ms. Pritchard displayed the work of 28 AP Photography students at the 16th Annual Advanced Students' Art Show on April 27, 2022. Three judges selected Steven Shepps as 'Best in Show' for the photography category.

Mrs. Malone and Mrs. Baker also had their student work in the showcase. Three scholarship winners will be announced at the RAS Awards Ceremony on June 3rd.

Rylee Allen Takes First Place in a National Photo Contest!

Each year Jostens hosts a nation-wide photography contest. There are 10 categories ranging from landscape to sports.

Senior and AP Photography student, Rylee Allen placed first overall in the Photo Manipulation category. She was given a $500 prize and her work is published online.
