Classroom Expectations:
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment for all students to learn. In order for this to happen, students are expected to:
Arrive to class on time, and begin to prepare for the first activity.
Calculators accessible
Spiral notebook and something to write with accessible
Have the necessary materials
Respect peers by allowing all learning styles to coexist.
Use agenda to document homework
Absences:
If you miss class, all information can be found on Google Classroom
Please plan to attend period 9 the first day you are back to learn what you missed.
Homework
(5 points) scoring 75% or higher as well as completing all problems and showing your work
(4 Points) work is not fully complete or your assignment is late
3 Points) scoring between 65% and 69% on assignment
(2 Points) scoring 55% and 65% on assignment
(1Point) scores below 55%
All must be shown in your composition notebook to earn the above points. One point will be deducted if work is missing.
Grades are based on total points.
Graded Classwork (GCW)
up to 20 Points
A graded classwork will be given up to two days prior to a quiz
Quizzes
up to 50 Points
This type of assessment will be given two times throughout each unit.
Projects
up to 50-100 Points
Expect one project each marking period.
Materials:
Whatever organizational system works for you (A three-ring binder to store and organize your notes is recommended)
2-Composition Notebooks, one to be kept in the classroom.
Lined paper
Graph paper
Pencil case- with sharpened pencils
Calculator- TI-30 X IIS
Support:
Period Nine Daily from 2:47 - 3:15 (daily)
Period 9 is for the student. Please do not hesitate to come visit me if you need clarification. As a class policy, any grade less than a 70% can be made up.
