Grades are based on the Total Points Method. To find your average, add all points earned and divide by the total possible points.
Homework: 5 Points for each assignment
The breakdown below is for MathXL
(5 points) received a score ≥ 75%
(4 points) Max score if late
(3 points) received a score < 75% and ≥ 50%
(2 points) received a score<50%-25%
(1 points) received a score < 25%
Graded Classwork: Open notebook assessments
(20 points each) these are given prior to a quiz in order to prepare for the larger assessment
Quizzes: Given at the end of each unit or subunit
(40-50 points each) points depend on the size of the unit
Projects:
(20-50 points) given at most once a marking period
*Upcoming MathXL homework will be posted on the MathXL calendar and on the Google Classroom calendar
*All other upcoming assignments and assessments will be posted on the Google Classroom calendar.
HOMEWORK POLICY
All homework assignments are due by the start of class the day after they are assigned (majority will be given on MathXL). If an assignment is not completed by the due date/time, you will receive a zero. Late work will be accepted for partial credit up to one day after it was due. If a late MathXL assignment is made up, you must email me with the name of the assignment to receive credit.
ABSENCES
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you have missed. For every day absent, you have one day to make up missed assignments for full credit.
If you are informed of a quiz or test but absent on the day of the assessment, you are expected to take the assessment the day you return during class or during Block 9.
BLOCK 9
If you need to see me during block 9 either for extra help or to make up an assignment/assessment, you can find me in Room 213.
