I love learning! That is why I wanted to be a teacher. Did you know that teaching is the best way to learn? I have learned so much as a teacher while helping others to learn. I hope you are excited to learn along with me this year. Never be afraid to help someone else learn - it is a win, win. You will both learn. :)

I am the second of seven children. My first "student" was my youngest brother. He and I both have November birthdays. My brother, Ruben, was very disappointed when he was the only kid left at home and all the rest of us went to school. He was ready, but because of his late birthday, he would have to wait another year. Believe it or not, he would cry because he was the only one without any homework! So I set up a little classroom for Ruben and taught him the alphabet, how to write his name, beginning reading, counting, and basic addition and subtraction. I was in 5th grade at the time and decided then that being a school teacher would be lots of fun. Ruben was very prepared when he finally got to start Kindergarten.

I started out my professional teaching career here, in Glenns Ferry, teaching 5th grade in elementary room 1. Then I taught a 4/5 combo class. That was an adventure! I moved up to the middle school and taught primarily 6th grade, with 6-8 STEM exploratory. Now I am privileged to teach high school math. I have learned so much along the way and am excited to keep learning.
