We’ve got a special Matariki themed Cybersmart Challenge this week. The challenge or wero is to learn more about Matariki and to encourage the celebration of the Māori new year! Learn more about the theme for Matariki this year, ‘Matariki heri kai’, which stars are specifically associated with this theme and what they each represent. There’s a fun create task in Google Slides to apply these new learnings.

In this challenge, you’ll learn how to use the polyline tool in Google Draw and Google Slides. This tool allows you to trace over images and create your own pictures using closed shapes made of straight lines that you can fill with colour for a 3D effect. This activity fits into our Smart Media strand with the focus on creating our own images.
