We are a multicultural class of Year 7 & 8 students in Room 6. Our school motto is 'Perseverance Gains Honour'. This is our vision for our students and equally important, for all who are part of the GIS team. A strong virtues programme that fosters Respect, Effort, Ako, Commitment and Honesty is a cornerstone of our school. These virtues create a positive, inclusive and collaborative culture. Our students thrive in an environment where there are high expectations for learning and behaviour.

My name is Zhydah Petersen and I am excited to be your child's teacher! I love to teach and my daily goal is to make our classroom a happy, safe, fun place to learn. I have high expectations that all students in my class show academic growth, no matter what their starting point is.

I value the partnership with parents and whānau and am committed to working with you to ensure the best outcomes for our students. Please do not hesitate to make contact should you wish to find out more about the developments at Glen Innes School or if you wish to discuss any matters of importance to you.

I can be reached at zpetersen@gleninnes.school.nz or you can use the Google Form under the 'Parent Portal' tab.

Kia ora, Suasday!

My name is Miss Cheng and I will be co-teaching in Room 6 for the remainder of the year :)

I am originally from Cambodia, but pretty much a Kiwi now, as I have been here since I was nearly two! I love learning and enjoy helping students to also discover this for themselves. I try to make learning engaging, relevant and fun. My faith is important to me and I have many interests including: art, documentaries, games and laughing. I also like seeing new places, being in nature and hanging out with family and friends (this is a photo of my daughter and I on one of our adventures). I look forward to being a part of Room 6 and the Glen Innes School Community.
