When is Conference ?

It is on Monday the 1st of July 2024 from 8.15am to 3.00pm.  

We suggest you aim to arrive about 8.15 so you are settled and in the hall for the mihi whakatau at 8.45am.

Where is Conference? 

AUT - Northcote Campus.  The address is: 90 Akoranga Drive, Northcote, Auckland 0627

Building AF is our central point for mix and mingle, keynotes and lunch. 

What’s the purpose of Conference?

Conference provides an excellent opportunity for you to connect and network with teachers within the Kāhui Ako and learn and share what you’re doing to create great student outcomes.

Is it compulsory to attend?

Yes - This is a Callback Day for all teachers and is part of our professional development.

What do I need to bring?

A notepad and pen will be supplied and all workshop slideshows will be sent to you electronically after the event. Morning tea, lunch and coffee will be available throughout the day. Please feel free to bring your own laptop, tablet, ipad etc and/or snacks if you wish. Bottled water will not be provided, bring your own bottle as there are refilling stations around campus.

Who will be attending?

You have been invited to this conference because your school is a part of the Kaipātiki Kāhui Ako. The schools that make up this Kāhui Ako are: Glenfield Intermediate, Glenfield College, Glenfield Primary, Marlborough School, Bayview School, Target Road School, Wairau Valley Special School,  Windy Ridge School, Manuka School, Bayview Kindergarten, Marlborough Kindergarten and Glenfield Kindergarten. There may also be other invited guests in attendance.

Where do I park?

We encourage you to consider car pooling with colleagues. If you wish to take your car, the carpark is a ‘pay and display’ and will cost approximately $7 for the day. This is your own cost. There may be some street parking available nearby but please be aware of the T2 lanes and ‘no parking’ between certain times signs. 

Will lunch be provided?

Yes. Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Tea, coffee and water will also be available throughout the day. 

Please make sure you select your dietary requirements when you register.

The registration form has an option to select and then list your dietary requirements.

How will I know where al the various workshops are happening and at what time?

A full timetable and conference pack will be given to you on the day.

What can I do to prepare for the day?

Bring great teaching stories, a learning mind and a sociable self to network with others

What if I have a question on the day?

Feel free to ask an In-School Leader, Across School Leader or Mark Whitford. 

We will all identify ourselves on the day.

I want to change workshops. What do I do?

Sorry, once your selection has been made it is final.
