Picture books

Picture books are a great way for kids to recognize emotions and find ways to relate to characters. Books are a simple way to support literacy and emotional intelligence while connecting with your child by setting aside time to read together.

While reading - ask questions to engage your child like:

  • Have you ever felt like that?

  • What would you do?

  • When do you feel like that?

  • What happens to your body when you feel (happy, sad, proud, mad, etc.)?

  • When are times you feel (happy, sad, proud, mad, etc.?)
