ACT & SAT

DCHS CEEB Code: 270-385

ACT

All currently enrolled juniors take the ACT in the spring of their junior year at DCHS. There is no need for students to preregister for this test since it is provided through Dawson County High School.

Students interested in taking the ACT early, who want to retake the ACT, or who were not enrolled at DCHS as a Junior, visit the ACT website at https://www.act.org/content/act/en.html to find information on test dates and registration.

Students who retake the ACT their Senior year are encouraged to retest by the October or December test dates in order for the scores to be available for scholarship deadlines.

SAT

The majority of students do not need to take the SAT. Most colleges only request ACT scores. However, there are some colleges (especially out of state) that prefer SAT scores.

Check with the colleges you are considering to see if they require that you take the SAT. If they do, visit the SAT website at www.collegeboard.com to find information on test dates and registration.
