Click on the links below to explore some of our databases and online resources. An informational sheet containing the usernames and passwords for the databases will be distributed on Back to School Night. If the informational sheet is misplaced, please contact Mrs. McKenna, Mrs. Taylor, or Mrs. Carballo (HS Librarian) for username and password information.

Bookflix

"Scholastic BookFlix is a new online literacy resource that pairs classic video storybooks from Weston Woods with related nonfiction eBooks from Scholastic to build a love of reading and learning. BrainPop

BrainPOP Jr. creates animated, curriculum-based content that supports educators and engages students. It is ideal for both group and one-on-one settings. All products are fully compatible with PCs, Macs, projectors, and interactive whiteboards. No downloading, installation, or special hardware is required.

Britannica School

Britannica School Edition is available through the Find it! link and under encyclopedias. Please use the link for Find it! This online resource offers three unique sites for children, young adults, and older patrons. With Britannica Library, it's easy to choose an age-appropriate level for conducting research, completing homework assignments, and working on special projects in the library or at home.

TumbleBooks

The district has recently purchased interactive e-books for students. The books are leveled. Students have the ability to have books read aloud and have text highlighting. These books can be accessed through the capstone website or using the capstone interactive mobile device application.

PebbleGo

PebbleGo can be accessed from school, home or on the go—anywhere where your child has an internet connection. PebbleGo is a database specifically geared toward the needs of K-3 learners. It will aid your child in learning research skills and provides emergent reader support such as audio voice-overs and text highlighting.

TrueFlix

"TrueFlix is the only online resource that leverages the award-winning True Books content to help students hone literacy skills, build knowledge of subject-area content, and cultivate 21st Century skills through the inquiry process." -Scholastic TrueFlix

World Book Kids

World Book Kids is designed especially for younger users, English-language learners, and reluctant readers. With content from the award-winning World Book Student Discovery Encyclopedia, the site offers simpler navigation, easier-to-read content, brighter colors, and a graphical design. Thousands of colorful illustrations, diagrams, and maps enrich thousands of articles selected for appeal and curricular relevance. There are also links to World Book Online in French and Spanish.
