Note: Students under 16 can volunteer at off site events and events where there are no animals present.  Heartland holds several large fundraisers each year where they need help with check in, auction table help, raffle ticket sales, etc. On site and pet attended events will have volunteer age determined based on each event, but they are always welcome to volunteer at the shelter and its events if they are with an adult.  Also, the shelter will sign 'volunteer/service hours' forms for students needing to complete volunteer/community service hours.
