Attendance:
I commit to not missing team functions (Team BBQ, Pasta Parties, Baking Parties, etc.), in-season practices, or meets without permission from my Coach first.
This includes Holidays, days off of school, and Homecoming Week/Weekend. WE HAVE PRACTICE THE SATURDAY MORNING OF THE HOMECOMING DANCE!!!
Exceptions to this rule are family emergencies, personal illness, academic obligations, or another coach-approved situation.
If you miss practice for any reason your coach needs an email BEFORE you will be absent!
If you don’t communicate with your coach before practice starts, your coach has the right to not let you participate in the following meet.
I commit to trying to schedule all appointments and events outside of our practice hours that are located on our Google Calendar. (After 5:30pm on weekdays or on Saturday/Sunday at a time when we don’t have practice)
The entire practice schedule is made already so you can schedule your appointments around practice. Please clear all SCHEDULED absences with your coach at least 2 days before missing practice. If it is scheduled, this shouldn’t be an issue!
I commit to not missing swim/dive practice for GBS Club events. I understand that sports take precedent over optional club meetings.
Practice Procedures:
I commit to seeing the trainer DURING LUNCH if I feel tightness or pain and not during practice.
I commit to being on the pool deck and out of the locker room by 3:40pm.
I commit to COMPLETING THE ENTIRE WARM-UP! I will not stop just because others are done.
I commit to completing each set/dive as it is intended with my best effort at all times.
I commit to respecting the practice my coach made for me and know I must swim every yard/perform every dive.
Meet Procedures:
I commit to wearing the proper team swimsuit, team jacket, and GBS cap during all meets.
I commit to being engaged throughout the entire meet and will NOT be on my phone.
I commit to visiting family members in the bleachers only during warm up times. While the meet is going on I will be on the pool deck cheering for ALL of my teammates (including during diving).
I commit to congratulating my opponents at the end of my race/event.
I commit to waiting in the pool till the last swimmer is done swimming.
I commit to not missing an event during the meet due to not paying attention to what is going on.
I commit to recognizing and celebrating my teammates successes even when I might not be having the same success myself.
