Sarah Ilie is a GBN social studies teacher and has been head coach of the speech team since 2009. A former speech team member herself, she was a state finalist in Poetry, the state champion in Dramatic Duet Acting, and the national runner up in both Oratory and Dramatic Interpretation. She now coaches students in a wide variety of both public speaking and interpretive events, including numerous state and national finalists.

Mr. Gerald Nevin

Coach Nevin works with the acting events both humorous and dramatic, as well as the occasional Original Comedy. He holds a BFA in Theatre Direction from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, and an MFA in Theatre from The University of Southern California. He was the Managing Director of the L.A. Rep Company and has served as adjunct faculty at The DePaul University Theatre School.
