University & Burke Museum
Join Sarah Armbruster of the Washington State Gleaning Network and Kathy Sharp of AGO as we tour the Burke Museum - a special place on the University of Washington campus with an outstanding collection of the art, indigenous culture, and natural history of the Pacific Northwest. The museum is a beautiful and creative space. The visit will include a gentle walk around the University of Washington campus with its Gothic architecture, cherry blossoms, and iconic views of Mt. Rainier. We will meet at a local restaurant, stroll through campus, and spend an hour or so at the Burke Museum.
Meeting time and Location: Meet at Agua Verde Cafe at 5:15pm, 1303 NE Boat St, Seattle, WA 98105.
Transportation: Uber or carpool from Ballard Homestead to meet at Agua Verde Cafe at 5:15pm, 1303 NE Boat St, Seattle, WA 98105. There is a parking lot at 1400 NE Boat St, and street parking available. Light rail, bus, or uber back to accommodations.
Food: Agua Verde Cafe, Mexican food with vegan and vegetarian options
Cost: $20-30. The museum is free, so just the cost of dinner and transportation.
Time: 3 hours
Physical Exertion: The walk from the restaurant to the Burke Museum is about 15 minutes. We will proceed at a leisurely pace from the restaurant across campus with stops along the way. All walking areas are paved. From the museum you can choose to walk back to the restaurant where your car is parked or use Lyft or Uber to return.
