The Glastonbury PTSO is proud to continue our tradition of presenting scholarships to graduating Glastonbury High School students who will be attending college after graduation. We present six (6) Scholarships of $1000 each. Below are the categories. The application process is part of the GHS Local Scholarships program. This is organized by the GHS School Counseling office.
Named in memory of Jane M. Faulkner, a dedicated PTSO member and a much loved paraprofessional, substitute teacher and religious education teacher in Glastonbury. This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating GHS senior who has made outstanding contributions to their school or community and who plans to pursue a degree in the field of education.
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating GHS senior who embodies strong leadership skills and demonstrates high academic achievement (grade point average of 4.00 or above). A transcript is required.
Named in memory of retired Glastonbury Schools Art Teacher and Board of Education member Inez Hemlock, this scholarship will be awarded to a graduating GHS senior who plans to pursue a degree in the field of art, including the visual arts and/or creative arts and/or performing arts.
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating GHS senior, that will pursue a higher level of education, who discusses an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of themself or others.
NOTE: Applicants who submit to this scholarship will remain anonymous to all in the scholarship committee except the chairpeople. The winner's name will be announced after deliberation only.
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating GHS senior who has demonstrated solid academic effort, with a grade point average of 3.50 - 3.99. This student must also show evidence of strong involvement in the community and school activities. A transcript is required.
This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating GHS senior who has demonstrated solid academic effort, with a grade point average of 3.00 - 3.49. This student must also show evidence of strong involvement in the community and school activities. A transcript is required.
