The Glastonbury High School Drama Club will present Chicago (Teen Edition) in the GHS auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on February 28, March 1, 7, 8 and at 2:00 p.m. on March 2.
Set in the 1920s, the show follows murderesses Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, as they compete for the spotlight and try to outsmart the law and become stars. With catchy music, dazzling dance numbers, and a sharp look at the media and justice system, Chicago (Teen Edition) explores themes of ambition, corruption, and the quest for fame.
The Glastonbury High School Drama Club is an organization that welcomes all students to contribute in various ways to the staging of two full productions per year (a fall play and spring musical). The Drama Club also produces a school talent show and a student-directed One Act Festival. By being involved, students develop valuable life skills and share experiences that often define their high school careers. That development and shared experience is the primary purpose of drama club; however, as a reputable drama club in our community, we hold ourselves to high standards. We work tirelessly as one team to produce shows that are high- quality, engaging, thought-provoking, and entertaining. Beyond the two productions each year, we also produce a school-wide talent show and offer opportunities for students to participate in dance workshops, acting workshops, and preparation for acting school auditions throughout the year.
