GHS Big Siblings

Our 2024-2025 Student Leaders

Big Siblings Leaders.2024-25.docx

Big Siblings are volunteers from the junior and senior classes who do all they can to make ninth graders feel welcome at Glastonbury High School.

Each spring juniors and seniors volunteer to spend time in the summer and fall acclimating incoming students to a larger facility, to a different schedule, and to new procedures. During the summer they write notes, make telephone calls, and sometimes treat their assigned frosh to lunch. Many come in during Orientation in August to function as guides to entire families.

In short, the Big Siblings are a group of young people committed to making the transition to GHS a successful one for our frosh. The volunteer time commitment is approximately five to ten hours a year and hours are recorded on an activity record sheet.
