As a former elementary & high school teacher, and current instructional coach, Lee Ann has a passion for teaching both students and teachers alike, and sharing in classroom experiences enriched in authentic relationships & engaging learning opportunities. Lee Ann- always referred to as simply "Yonker" loves marrying tech tools & instruction to improve teachers workload with tips and tricks.
After earning her Bachelors degree from Western Kentucky University in 2008, Lee Ann went on to teach 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th grade over the next several years. She also obtained her Masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Teacher Leadership from Campbellsville University in 2013.
For 10 years as an elementary educator, Lee Ann spent her time teaching a wide variety of grade levels and students, where she worked side by side with some amazing educators to provide services to both regular education students, as well as students with special needs.
In 2019 an unexpected invitation came her way, and she accepted a position as an Information Technology & Journalism teacher where she lead the #ScottieSquad & the #ScottieScoop journalism team at the very prestigious, Glasgow High School in Glasgow KY.
In the summer of 2021 Lee Ann accepted a position at Owensboro High School as a Digital Literacy & Instructional coach serving the teachers and students at Owensboro High to assist in improving classroom instruction & the use of digital tools.
In addition to her role as a classroom teacher, Lee Ann has held numerous leadership roles which include; Technology Lead, Digital Learning Coach, Beta Co-Sponsor, STLP Sponsor, Y-Club Sponsor, Student Technology Help Desk #ScottieSquad lead, GHS Photography Club Co Sponsor, Pre service teacher placement, as well as KTIP Intern & Student Teacher placement, Building CIITS Coordinator, Run Club Sponsor, Program Review Committee leader for writing, in addition to mid year review council. School PD Coordinator, School writing program coordinator, SBDM member 2015-2016.
Lee Ann was a 2014 & 2019 KY Teacher of the year nominee and a 2015 WHAS Excel Nominee. She also participated in the Aspiring Principals Program for Hardin County Teachers in 2015-2016.
Lee Ann recently completed her second Master's degree from Campbellsville University to obtain her Rank 1 in School Administration. See more tips and tricks at the links bleow.
