Welcome to the Elementary music pages!
On the page of each grade, after logging in, students and parents can find necessary recordings and handouts. From time to time we will also upload photos and/or videos of what we're doing in class or from recent performances.
In addition, to ensure that your child’s musical experience at GKA is successful and rewarding, we would like to inform first-year parents as well as remind those returning of the following guidelines:
CHILD’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
Practice a minimum of 4 times a week for 10 minutes
Have the daily practice sheet signed by a parent
Bring student textbook or music file to every lesson
Actively participate in class
PARENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor your child’s practice schedule
Be sure that your child is practicing the assigned songs
Encourage your child to participate and be expressive
Express the importance and benefits of music education to your child
Practicing the assigned songs at home and outside of class is essential for your child’s musical development. Each child will be required to sing/play a minimum of 4 times a week; although everyday is preferable. A practice session may be done at home or even in the car - perhaps when traveling to and from GKA everyday! After each practice session, sign the daily practice sheet which is inside your child’s music file. These will be collected at the end of each term and will be included as part of your child’s final grade.
