Our Wellness program emphasizes the physical development of the individual and utilizes a variety of activities, both team and individual, to add to the continued emotional, social and physical growth of the student.
To progressively increase student cardiovascular fitness levels by completing specific warm-up tasks indoors, and/or outside on the track/football field.
To increase student strength, endurance, and flexibility by doing specific weight bearing exercises during activities, conditioning, and sport related activities.
To refine motor skills in various areas such as throwing, catching, dodging, shooting, hitting, etc.
To participate in team sport and individual sport activities playing by the rules in a cooperative manner.
All clothing must allow for safe participation in the activities.
Athletic Shoes
Appropriate PE Clothes (Shorts, sweats, t-shirt, socks)
NO tank tops, short shorts, sagging – NO belts, pockets, buttons or zippers
Do not wear PE clothes to school. You MUST change for class.
Students are expected to remove all jewelry except medical alert tags.

Scheduled tutoring sessions available before, during and after school when requested by student and/or parent.
Medical excuses will be handled on an individual basis. A note from a doctor is required to be excused from class for an extended period of time. Students are responsible for taking the note to the office and getting copies made for the nurse, the PE teacher and Athletic Trainer if necessary.
A parent note is acceptable if the privilege is not abused.
Bring a signed and dated written note from a parent or guardian with a valid reason (illness/injury)

Unacceptable language/gestures, dress Code, disruptions, bullying, cheating, disrespect, class cut, insubordination, stealing, fighting, destruction of property, internet policy.
NO electronic devices are permitted in the classroom.
No food or drink in the gym hallway, locker rooms, the gym or outside fields.
Do not touch anything that is not yours – Including equipment when teacher is not present to give instruction.
Student athletes get no special privileges and are expected to participate in all class activities. Students who choose not to participate in selected activities must walk in the gym. They are not permitted to sit and or use electronic devices.
Students with special needs will be adapted into our program as best we can accommodate them.

Be prepared to exercise with proper clothing and a positive attitude with self-motivation and self-discipline.
Students must present an excused absence slip to the teacher before the start of class.
Unexcused tardiness.
3 times late to class = Office Detention
In case of a teacher absence, students must be respectful to the substitute or they will be disciplined according to the GJSD Code of Conduct.
