About the Artist

My name is Nevaeh Henry. I'm currently 14 years old and a freshman in High School. I am pansexual and an avid supporter of the LGBT+ community (duh). I love creating art, music, and short stories. I also enjoy cooking and learning different languages.

Growing up as an only child with a single mom had it's dark moments. I've had to learn how to cope with my ADHD along with other challenging issues, and though I've suffered a great deal of pain in my lifetime, I think that it only makes me and my art better. When drawing, I try to pick one emotion that I am feeling and hone in on it to give the piece a deeper meaning than what appears on the surface.

How I got started

I didn't really get into art until the third grade when I was introduced to anime, an american imitation of a Japanese animation style. Through elementary school and most of middle school, I drew just for the fun of it. As life went on, art started to become more of a coping skill and an emotional outlet. Since then, I've begun to refine my art styles (anime, modern realism, watercolors, and abstract) and improve my art skills in general. In doing so, I have also been able to project intense emotion through my art. I draw to inspire and bring light to the things society throws shade on.
