Google IT Support Certification

Full scholarships are available through Goodwill for this 12-week IT training program designed to prepare students for entry level IT positions such as Help Desk Technician, Support Analyst, and Computer Support Specialist. Construction and Weatherization

A five-week paid construction and weatherization training program providing classroom and hands-on training to those interested in a construction career. Trainees may earn NCCER and OSHA certifications upon graduation.

Virtual Training Courses

Searching for Work:

Overview of concepts of searching for jobs online and how the job market has changed. Learn how to jump through hoops that employers may require.

Online Job Search:

Introduction to navigating online job search engines, including Jobs4TN.gov, Google, and indeed.


Applying for Work:

Learn how to fill out applications online, and understand what information employers are looking for on an application.

Resume Writing:

Reviews importance of resume, compares resume layouts, and introduces clients to guidelines for what information to include on resume. Learn how to stand out among many job applicants.

Preparing for Success in the Workplace:

Learn and develop important habits for maintaining long-term employment and success at work. Identify and compare advantages and disadvantages of job offers.

Financial Literacy:

Learn how to gain control of your personal finances and keep them on solid ground.

Computer Basics, Online Job Search and Resume Class (FREE)

Class topics include: Computer Basics, Email, and Online Job Search

Resume writing class: You must attend Computer Basics and Online Job Search prior to attending Resume Class.


Office Productivity Skills Training- 3 day (FREE)

A 3-day introduction into the Microsoft Office suite and Google Suite. You will learn Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Spreadsheets. Students must attend all three days of class. Pre-assessment and registration is required for this course.


Forklift: (THIS COURSE COSTS $100) Classes every Wednesday

This is a three to four-hour course including classroom instructor-led safety training and hands-on operation training using a forklift. Contact 615-742-4151 to sign up for forklift class. Forklift class is held at 7235 Cockrill Bend Blvd. Nashville, TN 37209


Call Center: (PAID TRAINING COURSE - $80/week)

A four-week paid training course teaching participants how to manage and respond to incoming phone calls from customers. Trainees may earn a Contact Center Associate certification. Contact Career Solutions for information on next class. Pre-training assessments are required prior to starting training. Visit Goodwill Career Solutions at 937 Herman Street anytime between 9:00 am -2:00 pm for pre-training assessments.

Custodial: (PAID TRAINING COURSE = $150/week) Classes start every Monday

This is a 4-week custodial certificate program. The program is designed for front-line custodians and teaches basic and advanced skills in all areas of commercial building cleaning. Call 615-742-4151 for more information.
