Tangaroa - God of the Sea

What we have learnt about Tangaroa. People used to have a karakia before they went across Tangaroa so they could have a safe journey. Rangi and Papa were Tangaroa parents.But they were forced apart because the sons did not like how they were living so they choose Tane mahuta to force them in to the sky now Papatuanuku is the ground mother and Rangi is the sky father.

Tangaroa was one of the many sons they had, they were all gods. Tangaroa is a great resource of the world in the old days they had to forage for food they had to go out in their waka and catch their breakfast, lunch and dinner. You could also use Tangaroa for traveling across to other places because they did not have cars back then. It could also bring you lots of resources like drift would so you could also use it to build little rafts. That is what I learnt about tangaroa hope you learnt something in my story.
