Tangaroa - God of the Sea
Tangaroa is the Maori God of the Sea. Tangaroa made laws to protect the ocean and its sea creatures. He's also the God of all the creatures that live there. Tangaroa is one of the many sons of Papatuanuku and Ranginui, the god and goddess of the sky and Earth. Tangaroa's son, Punga, has two children, Ikatere, the ancestor of fish, and Tu-te-wehiwehi, the ancestor of reptiles. Tangaroa is also the one who controls the waves, when the was are big and rough it means that he is having a hard time or he is upset, when the waves are calm and small he is happy.
