Tangaroa - God of the Sea
Tangaroa is the god of the sea and progenitor of fish, Tangaroa is the son or ranginui. Maori people and their polynesian ancestors lived close to the sea and relied on it of food and other resources. So when the Maori went fishing they always said a karakia to say thank you for the fish they got. Its time. You be grateful for the fish. Maori believe that water is an energy, with many moods. It can be calm and live giving, or dangerous and destructive this energy is called Tangaroa, the god of the sea.
