Tangaroa - God of the Sea

Tangaroa who is powerful and strong is the god of our wonder full Moana or Ocean. Tangaroa is the son of the almighty Ranginui and Papatuanuku. Rangi is the Sky Father and Papa the Earth Mother. Tangaroa and all his brothers were tired of seeing no light as Rangi and Papa were together and provided no life. The brothers waited and waited. Suddenly, they hatched a plan. They pushed and pushed until Papa and Rangi were forced apart creating light in the world. Tangaroa, became the god of the sea and he cared for fish and our Moana as well as seaweed, coral, and much more. We are thankful for what Tangaroa has provided us and we respect his kindness. He has given us a way to travel using Tane's-the god of the forests-fabulous wood, kaimoana to enjoy with the family, and of course the luxury of swimming and having a lovely place that is our Moana.
