Fundraising for Whiteshill Guide and Scout Headquarters started in 1974.

The land was purchased in 1977 frm Mr Charley, Ruscombe Farm.

Volunteers prepared the foundations and completed internal and external finishing.

The cost of the building was £6050.

The hut shell was completed in 1978.

The cost of the garage £928.77.

In 1982, the external canopy was erected.

The Guide and Scout Hut was officially opened in 1981 by R.D. Clark.
