Storyboard That is a graphic organizer and storyboard creator that reinforces english and history concepts in the classroom. Versatile materials and drag-and-drop technology make this program applicable across grade levels. Educators can also use this program to enhance understanding through visual learning.
The program provides pre-made scenes, characters, text boxes, shapes, and other images to choose from, and premium users can also upload their own pictures. Other options included in the premium version include audio and advanced layouts. Students are able to drag and drop these items into their chosen layout. Scenes are organized into locational and thematic categories (e.g. school). Characters are organized similarly and can be customized with hair color, eye color, and other edits. Text boxes allow the student to give voice to their characters. Shapes and additional images add props to the story.
Once finished, storyboards can be saved as PDFs, storyboard cells, or PowerPoint presentations.
Storyboard That is a use-only, web-based program; teachers cannot manage or view students work through the program. It is Chromebook friendly.
A basic model is available for free and is best for light use. Teachers and students can make up to three storyboards per week.
Storyboard is being used by over 25,000 teachers and 50,000 students in over 1,000 schools.
