Hello, I am Angela Blank. I am the 6-8 math teacher and 8th grade Cheerleading coach at Cedar Hollow in Grand Island, Nebraska. I have been teaching at Cedar Hollow since the 2005-2006 school year!

I was born in Grand Island, but never lived in GI. I moved to Fallon, Nevada when I was 2 and stayed there until I graduated from Churchill County High School. I attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Level Education. UNK is also where I met my husband, Seth, and participated in cheerleading...Go Lopers! I completed my student teaching in Houston, TX and then came back to Nebraska to start my teaching career.

My first year of teaching was a lot of firsts for me...bought a house in Kearney (I'm still commuting from Kearney every day), bought a car and got married all within 4 months of each other. Seth and I do not have any children, but we have had 3 of the best fur babies out there! (Zoe: 2005-2014, Piper: 2010 -??, Kershaw: 2017 - ??) After a couple years of teaching I decided to continue my education and pursued a Master's in the Art of Teaching degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. I graduated with my Master's degree in August of 2011.

When I first started at Cedar Hollow I was the assistant volleyball coach. I coached the Cedar Hollow Hawks volleyball team for 8 years. I was then asked to help out with the 8th grade cheerleading. Both sports I truly love, but cheerleading has a very special place in my heart. About the same time I started coaching cheerleading is when Cedar Hollow began the MathCOUNTS Lunch Crew. This is open to any 6-8 student that has an interest in doing more challenging math problems over their lunch time.

I am passionate about teaching math and hoping that every one of my students have a moment where they finally feel comfortable with math and know that EVERYONE can do math!
