Ashlyn Snow is a Cambria native and photographer with over 15 years of experience. Contrary to the restrictive modern notion that artists ought to “niche down” to one persistent speciality in order to find success, her work takes inspiration from a variety of places. Her fashion photography revels in the playfulness of setting up an imaginative scene; her nature photography accentuates moments of beauty in the world as it is; her documentary-style photographs give an up-close view of the gritty work on the historic cattle ranch her family has owned and operated for more than a century. Though at a glance these things may seem disparate, each photograph is a different way of seeing the same world, and often the very same space––the same ranch hills that host cowboys on horseback one day often host a model in a flowing dress the next, and a vibrant sunset that evening. Ashlyn’s work captures these moments both separately and as they interact. She is a photographer of not one passion but many.
