Consejería Presidencial para la Equidad de la Mujer

Last friday, August 3rd, fifth grade students invited a very special guest, Lucas Calderón Dmartino from the Consejería Presidencial para la Equidad de la Mujer to talk about how to protect women's rights and promote gender equality in our country.

The talk was given in the context of their school project called Boys don´t cry about gender roles and equality in the Gimnasio Moderno.

We think this experience as the opportunity for this kids dialogue about this issues and to approach this topics while learning very important communication skills.

In a public panel, 5th grade students interviewed the specialist in gender Lucas Calderón, asking him the following questions:

  • What does Consejería de la Presidencia para la Mujer do?
  • What do you think is the reason why women cannot apply for all kind of jobs?
  • How is defined the women equality issues in Colombia and what are the challenges and obstacles?
  • Why according to stereotypes male gender is stronger?
  • What are the main learnings so far from your work at CPPM?
  • Which is the common issue you deal with at CPPM?
  • Which is the most difficult decision you had to take while working for CPPM?
