Lower Grades

Choose a read aloud from one of the following websites and complete one of the activities below.

• View the story and then:

  • Retell the story in your own words to a family member or friend.

    • Remember to share the beginning, middle, and end.

  • Draw a picture of your favorite part of the story.

In this story Lina wakes up to a silent, snowy world and walks to her grandmother's to help cook, discovering ten different ways to "hear" the snow along the way. This story incorporates a different culture and a traditional recipe from their country.

Middle Grades

Do a little research on mammals on the National Geographic for Kids website.

• Select one mammal, read and explore the article.

  • Answer the questions on the Google form.
