Reading and storytelling with your child promotes brain development and imagination, teaches your child about language and emotions, and strengthens your relationship.

1. Read/Listen to the book/link provided with your child.

2. While reading/listening to the book, stop and ask questions such as

*What do you think will happen next?

*How do you think the character is feeling?

*Find something on the page that is red, or something that begins with the letter sound /a/.

*Listen for rhyming words and practice saying them together.

*What happened at the end of the story?

Extension Activities:

*Draw a picture about the story.

*Act out the story.

*Have your child retell the story in their words.
