A school social worker is like the bridge between students’ hearts and their learning. They support kids when big feelings or challenges make school tough, and they help families connect with resources outside of school too. Think of them as problem-solvers, encouragers, and guides who make sure students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. They check in with students who may need extra help managing emotions, friendships, or changes at home. They also work closely with teachers and parents so everyone is on the same team. In short, school social workers help create the “village” it takes to help a child grow and thrive.
