My name is Michelle Emrick and I will be your child's first grade teacher this year. I am looking forward to working with you and your child. Your child will be part of many exciting and rewarding experiences this academic year.
Your child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for his/her growth. My primary goal is for your child to have a happy and productive first grade experience both academically and socially and build his/her self-concept in the process. I recognize that children are unique individuals with a variety of developmental and ability levels.
I will provide an atmosphere in the classroom conducive to learning. The atmosphere will be nurturing, exciting, and challenging; a place where discoveries can be made by the students. The students will be involved in many hands-on activities as they explore the different subject areas.
I will concentrate on teaching the whole child; intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally as he /she develops throughout the school year. I will continually evaluate each student’s progress in order to plan and facilitate the student’s learning in the most appropriate manner.
