Schedules will be viewable on Infinite Campus starting on July 14th. Schedule corrections will be made for the following reasons ONLY:
Completed a course during summer school that is on your schedule for this coming year
Missing a required class needed for graduation
Level Corrections (Honors, AP, On-Level)
Gap correction (there is a gap in the schedule)
If a correction is needed, please do not email counselors, instead fill out the Schedule Change Request Form. Counselors will not make elective or teacher changes.
Counselors report back to work on Tuesday, July 14th and will review the requests in this order.
Seniors - July 14 & 15
Juniors - July 16
Sophomores - July 20
Freshmen - July 21

Class Fees will be posted on 7/14/26 and can be paid online/InTouch or in the Bookstore by cash, check, card or tap!

We welcome all incoming Freshman or students new to MHS to come walk their schedule! We have three dates to walk your schedule. No appointment required:
Wednesday, July 22nd:

Thursday, July 23rd:
8:00am-12:00pm
Campus Tours Available and begin in the cafeteria.
Monday, July 27th:
4:00pm-6:00pm

In order to participate in tryouts, students MUST HAVE a physical on file for the current school year.
Students must also complete the *Brainbook, *Hazing and *Opioid courses through Rank One.
You can register your athlete at Rank One
*Only needs to be completed once during a students High School experience.
Students are required to wear a Student ID all day.
ID's will be used to enter the building and for taking attendance in each period.
Students who do not have their ID's will be required to purchase a temporary pass in the book store for the day.
Attendance will be taken by scanning Students ID's.
All District schools are closed campuses. A parent must sign the student out, in person, in order for the student to leave for any reason. Self-excusers (18 year old students with parental permission) are not allowed to sign themselves off campus without parental permission. Emails/phone calls will not be accepted to sign a student out of school.
Tardy Policy:
(5) Tardies to Class (including 1st period) = (1) Lunch Detention
(10) Tardies to Class = (10) Day ISS
(20) Tardies = 2nd ISS & Tardy Contract w/ Student, Admin, & Parent
Tardies reset each quarter.
Attendance Policy:
Parents will receive letters through ParentSquare notifying them of both (5) and (10) absences.
After (10) absences, a meeting will be set up with the grade level administrator and counselor to discuss the excessive absences.
Students will need to wear their ID's all day, including when they are entering the building (ie: laynard, clipped to pants, etc...).
Chromebooks will need to be out of backpacks when entering.
Gate/School Hours
Football ONLY:
- Arrival: 4:30-4:45 AM at the North Gate
- Gate closes at 4:45 AM — no entry after that time
A Hour / Athletics:
- Arrival: 6:15–6:30 AM at the North Gate
- Gate closes at 6:30 — no entry after that time
Early Arriving Students:
- Please coordinate directly with admin for access and procedures
South Gate, for bused students, will open at 6:50am
North Gate will re-open for students at 7am
School Provided Transportation:
- Teachers will meet and support students at the East Gate
Tutoring:
- Begins at 7:00 AM
Toybox:
- Staff will meet parents and students at their assigned gate
Seminary:
- Students attending Seminary will need to exit and re-enter from the front, East Gate
Any student arriving past 7:30am will need to come through the FRONT, East Gate.

All parents/guardians must review the District Handbook, complete the online Annual Update, and sign the Awareness Contract online through Infinite Campus each year.

Here Comes the Bus is a free app you can download to see where your bus is and get alerts when the bus is getting close to your stop.
With the ‘Here Comes the Bus’ app parents can:
View the real-time location of their student’s school bus
Ensure their student gets to the bus stop at the right time, every time
Know when and where their child boards or exits the bus - Students ID badges will be scanned when they board and exit the school bus
Parents can easily download the ‘Here Comes the Bus’ app. Once downloaded, select whether you would like email, push notifications or both, regarding your student’s school bus. You can also select what you would like to be notified of.

Student Pick Up/Drop off & Parking
Any student driving and parking at school is required to purchase a Mesquite High Parking tag.

Students are given the first two weeks of school to purchase a parking sticker for the 2026-2027 school year prior to parking violations are enforced.
AN APPROVED RELEASE TIME FORM IS REQUIRED FOR ANY STUDENT THAT LEAVE CAMPUS EARLY OR ARRIVES LATER THAN OUR NORMAL BELL SHEDULE TIMES.
