About Me

My name is Ardus Sturdevant and I am so happy to see your child in the library each week. This is my 20th year at Mesquite.  After 14 years in 4/5th grade, I made the change to fill some very large shoes  as our librarian.  This is my sixth year getting to enjoy seeing all the students at Mesquite.  I am looking forward to magical things happening this year!

I was born and raised in Faribault, MN.  I attended St. Cloud State University where I graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education.  I moved to San Diego, CA in 1997 where I taught reading, Kindergarten, and second grade. I attended Chapman University and received my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Cross Cultural Language and Academic Development Emphasis.  After seven care free years in Southern California, I moved to Chandler with my husband Brett. We have one 18 year old son Ryder who just graduated from Gilbert High and is heading off to the University of Arizona.

I enjoy reading, anything  Harry Potter,  football (Vikings), movies, and hanging with my family and friends.
