Hello families!

You have reached Ms. Breeta, your preschool Speech Therapist.

I hope you and your family are healthy and doing good during this challenging time.

I am very excited to start this school year and to work with you and your child on improving their speech and language. I am at Harris Elementary School working with two preschool classes and Boulder Creek Elementary School working with two preschool classes.

Let me tell you a little about me. I have been a speech therapist for 18 years and before that I was a special education teacher for three years. I have worked in the field of early intervention for 6 years and have been with Gilbert Schools for 12 years. I have been married for 20 years and we have two amazing children, an 11-yr old sixth grader and a 16-yr old senior. In our spare time we love to spend time together playing games, watching movies, swimming, and hiking.

Communication between school and home is very important to me. I will use a communication folder to give you a brief update on each therapy session I have with your child. Please send the folder back to school and the teachers will hold on to it until speech day again. Please feel free to write me a note inside as well, email me, or you can leave me a message (numbers below). If you ever want to meet other than our typical IEP meetings, please let me know and I would be happy to set up a time with you.

Most families are very busy nowadays, so I do not send homework unless requested. I always recommend lots of READING with your child and talking about the book that you have read. There are so many speech and language opportunities within books. Enjoy!
