We would like to Welcome our Newest H.S. Head Coach for the new H.S. Boys Volleyball Program! Mike Tagliaferri. Those interested in participating this Spring, there is an info. meeting @ lunch in the gym. Below is his bio.

I am so excited to be Gilbert Classical Academy’s first ever men’s volleyball head coach. I love the game of volleyball and the spirit of competition it brings out of young men. I look forward to building a culture on positivity, hard-work, and winning. I invite any athlete that loves competition to come be a part of this program and put some banners on the wall!

Athletics has been an important part of my entire life. Growing up I played every sport. I went from football practice, to a basketball game, and the next day was getting ready for baseball tryouts. When I got to high school, I played football, basketball, and volleyball. I have learned from many coaches that I have played for and coached with and have combined it into my unique method of coaching. I played college football as a linebacker at Southern Utah University. Shortly after graduating, I got into coaching at the high school level. Of all the sports I have played, nothing matches the intensity, level of joy, and excitement as volleyball.

I coached at Centennial High School in Las Vegas as an assistant coach for five years. In 2018, we were able to win the 5A state championship and set many records along the way. Most wins in state history, highest national ranking in school history, and never dropped a set in the regional and state playoffs. After winning that state title, I knew I had to do it again but as a head coach. This will be my second stint as a head coach and am still chasing that state championship!

I am so excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to get to work!

Go Spartans!
