I started my education degree at Macon State College. When I moved to Arizona in 2006, I transferred to Arizona State University. I graduated in May of 2009 from Arizona State University with my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I received my Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University in December 2010.
This will be my fourteenth-year teaching, but my eighteenth year working in education. I started my education career as a long-term substitute and completed my student teaching here at Canyon Rim as well as at Superstition Springs Elementary. I taught grades preschool through second grade and I quickly fell in love with teaching!
I love decorating and preparing the classroom, the smell of school supplies, and being a part of something bigger. I love the "aha" moments when you can see a child starting to understand and they start applying what they have learned. Every year it is my goal to make the children love school as much as I do!
How lucky am I to have the opportunity to do what I love the most?
