Welcome! 

As a Title I Math Specialist I get the opportunity to work with various students to deepen their love for math and build their mathematical understanding. Since Harris Elementary is a full Title I school, all students in grades K-6 are eligible to receive additional math support. Title I math support is in addition to direct math instruction provided by the classroom teacher. All Title I math support is standard-based and data-driven. The goal of Title I math support is to provide additional opportunities for students to grow in their mathematical understanding. I push in into different classrooms at every grade level and work with students in small groups during math stations. I love being able to work with so many students and deepen their mathematical understanding.

Harris is fortunate enough two have two math specialists on campus! Lori Rogers is the other amazing math specialist/coach.

About Me

I graduated from NAU in 2003 and have a K-8 Math Endorsement. My teaching career began in Prescott Valley, Arizona where I taught 6th and 7th grade at a middle school for five years. I really enjoyed teaching middle school students, but being a Math Specialist is a dream come true!! I have been a Math Specialist at Harris Elementary School since the Fall of 2011! And I hope to stay here until I retire - which is many, many, many years away!

Outside of school, I live with my wonderful husband, Jason, and our cute little dog, Maisy. We enjoy spending time outside and trying out new food. My husband's favorite thing to do is go on a Cruise, which we have been fortunate enough to go on many over the years!  I love reading a good book, going for walks with my dog, reading the real newspaper, and working on puzzles.
