I am originally from Colorado and moved to Phoenix in 1995 to attend ASU. I have a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Spanish from ASU, teacher certification from Rio Salado College and a M.A. in Secondary Education from Plymouth State University. I also am a certified TESOL teacher and have certifications in Nutrition and Weight Loss from NASM. Before teaching, I worked for the USDA in the fields of agronomy and entomology for 6 years. I love science and research, and love passing that along to students! This is my 11th year teaching!
My husband Casey and I have been married for 19 years and we have 5 children together. Three are young adults (all working in the education field) and the younger two attend Gilbert Public Schools.
For fun, we enjoy traveling! Our recent travels include: volunteering in the Dominican Republic, visiting a research station in Costa Rica and visiting family in Vietnam! We also enjoy camping and hiking as a family. I love to read, watch murder mystery movies and study nutrition!
