Highland High School

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." -Dr. Martin Luther King

Ms. Bridget Anderson

I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma where I lived until my family was relocated to Tempe, Arizona when I was in third grade. I grew up in Tempe and eventually attended ASU where I earned an undergraduate degree in special education. I later attended NAU where I earned a graduate degree in counseling/human relations. I have been in public education for 30 years, all of them in Gilbert Public Schools. I have taught resource math and social studies at the junior high school and was guidance counselor for four years. My passion for working more directly with students led me back to the classroom at Highland High School in 2001 where I oversaw a self-contained program for 20 years. I had the opportunity to join the counseling team at HHS in 2021 where I am today. I have daughter who was a 2018 HHS graduate and a son who graduated in 2021. In a world of school choice, like you I can select any school for my children to attend. I picked HHS because I truly believe in my heart that it is a great school and an awesome community. I hope you feel the same.

Google Classroom Directions

Google Classroom is a web-based learning environment. When logged into Google Classroom, students can collaborate with their peers and teachers. Google Classroom offers a digital safe space for students to view class announcements, access posted course content, view posted assignments, and turn in completed work. Only authorized GPS users (students, teachers, and other designated staff members) can have access to a GPS Google Classroom.

Parents can access their child’s teachers’ Google Classroom in one of the following ways:

  1. From the school-issued Chromebook, ask the student to log in and launch the Google Classroom App. Please note that any activity in Google Classroom is documented under the student’s login and it would be inappropriate for a parent to communicate with the teacher or other students in Google Classroom. Parents should use their personal email to digitally communicate with the teacher.

  2. From any computer with internet access, click this link https://classroom.google.com and have the student login with their GPS Google Apps for education username and password. Please note that any activity in Google Classroom is documented under the student’s login and it would be inappropriate for a parent to communicate with the teacher or other students in Google Classroom. Parents should use their personal email to digitally communicate with the teacher.
