All students have P.E. once a week. Additionally, kiddos repeat a special on Wednesdays. Please check your child's classroom calendar and help them be prepared by wearing P.E. closed toed shoes and clothing that is suitable for activity.
The GPS elementary P.E. curriculum is called Dynamic Physical Education. Each lesson contains a warm-up, fitness, lesson focus, and game. The curriculum is divided into three developmental levels, K-2, 3-4, and 5-6. Students are exposed to a wide variety of developmentally appropriate team sports and lifetime activities.
I grew up in Mesa not too far from Augusta. I earned my Bachelor's from Arizona State University and my Master's in Education from University of Phoenix.
Growing up, I was always outside playing which led me to playing softball and soccer in college. I am so grateful for the experience of playing college ball. Ultimate teamwork with some pretty intense competition.
I'm passionate about teaching P.E. I love to see my students having fun and learning new skills thru sports, games and activities that they can carry with them throughout their lives. When I'm not teaching P.E., my favorite thing ever is to be outside with family and friends hiking, biking, kayaking, zip lining and pretty much anything that involves adventure and adrenaline. A few years ago I went sky diving, it was awesome!
