Purpose

The NHS program empowers and equips GIHS students with the knowledge and skills to be transformative leaders in our school, community, and beyond. In addition, it provides a necessary bridge between students and school leaders—helping to engage and hear what students think, feel, and need.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR:

9/21/26: Letters mailed home to students that have met initial criteria for consideration

10/16/26: Application, Service Verification Form and Coach/Advisor Evaluations forms due

10/23/26: Decision letters mailed home

11/4/26: First NHS meeting with new inductees at 2:30pm

11/17/26: Induction Rehearsal at 2:30pm

11/19/26: Induction Ceremony at 7pm
