ABOUT THE COURSE:
Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in IT offer specialist pathways in IT Infrastructure Technician, Emerging Digital Technology Practitioner, Application Developer, and Data Analyst. Students will apply their practical skills and knowledge in preparation for further study, Higher Education or the workplace. Designed in collaboration with experts spanning the breadth of the sector, the Cambridge Technical in IT focuses on the skills, knowledge and understanding that today’s universities and employers demand.
UNIT AIMS:
A sound understanding of IT technologies and practices is essential for IT professionals. Information learnt in this unit will provide a solid foundation in the fundamentals of hardware, networks, software, the ethical use of computers and how business uses IT. After completing this unit, the knowledge, skills and understanding you have developed will underpin your study for the additional units. Knowledge gained in the study of this unit will also help prepare you for relevant industry qualifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Mobility+ and Cisco IT Essentials.

Ask/email the teacher or your class mates if you’ve missed any lesson. Communication is vital in this unit, so please check your emails regularly. This is an Externally Assessed Exam Unit. All necessary documentation, worksheets & resources can be found on this website and in the teacher's CLASSROOM class page. Deadline dates will be released closer to the time.

This is an externally assessed course, meaning there is an exam at the end of the course.
The exam is a written paper of 1.5 hours long, split up into two sections - Section A & Section B.
Section A has a total of 15 multiple choice questions.
Section B is has a short scenario and questions will follow about it.
There will be a Mock Exam in December on the topics LO1 & LO2.
Your final exam will be in May. Please check your GOOGLE CLASSROOM/ Emails for any updates.
Grades consists of Fail, N (Near Pass), Pass, Merit, Distinction.

The course is split into five LEARNING OUTCOMES (LOs). Notes & tasks will be loading in this site and in CLASSROOM.
Open/Save the files in your personal folder space or in a USB.
Read the instructions for the lesson/task to be completed. Use the appropriate software to complete the tasks.
In CLASSROOM, find your teacher's class and the assignment link for the submission of tasks & deadlines. Upload the necessary files for the task and submit.
