`Abstract

Bacteria are found everywhere and are on every organism from dead or alive. The purpose of this experiment is to find what type of doorknob ( circular and rectangular)thrives and produces the most bacteria. The procedure included taking twenty Petri dishes ( 10 for each type of doorknob)I swabbed the Petri dishes and put them into their respective places. Then I tapped them shut and put them into a shady place and left them alone for seven days. The results showed that the circular doorknob had the least amount of bacteria individually, but one doorknob had a total of twenty-seven which made the total of the circular doorknob higher, and the total amount of bacterial colonies in the rectangular doorknob. The major conclusion found in this experiment is that the circular doorknobs had overall the most bacteria.

Future research needs to focus on why the circular doorknobs amount of bacterial colonies varied so much.
