My results show that the low energy beach had much smaller coral with only 4-6 branches. At the low energy beach there were lots of dead coral with a few juvenile coral which were the only ones I could find. The low energy is a little more protected by a point and not as windy all the time but some nice swell when it’s big.The high energy beach has large coral but also some small elkhorn coral formations. The high energy beach’s conditions are usually windy and getting hit straight on by swell through the Anegada passage. At the high energy beach the average number of branches is 10.2.At the low energy beach, the average number of branches on the elkhorn coral I observed was 4.6.
